Hourly Art is the most flexible way to try PLAYDAY. Every session focuses on a single medium — painting, sculpture, printmaking, cartooning, and more — guided by a teaching artist from start to finish.
Kids ages 5+ drop off, create, and come home an hour later with something they made. No enrollment, no long-term commitment, no skill level required.
Perfect for after school, days off school, or whenever your kid just needs to make something with their hands.
What they'll make
Drawing
Pencil, charcoal, pen & ink. The foundation for everything else.
Painting
Watercolor, acrylic, and gouache — colour theory and technique baked in.
Sculpture
Clay, wire, cardboard, and found objects. Working in three dimensions.
Printmaking
Block prints, stencils, monoprints — graphic and repeatable.
Cartooning & Comics
Character design, panel layouts, and the building blocks of visual storytelling.
Mixed Media
Collage, zines, and experiments that cross every boundary above.
How a session runs
Every session has rhythm — a quick warmup, a guided project, and plenty of room for kids to make it their own. Teaching artists keep things moving without rushing anyone.
Drop off at the top of the hour. Pick up 60 minutes later with a finished piece ready for the fridge.
Questions
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — we recommend booking through your account so you can guarantee a spot. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, but sessions often fill up. And if plans change, you keep your credit: there are no late-cancel fees.
Do parents stay during the session?
Hourly Art is a drop-off experience for ages 5 and up. Parents can stay in the studio lounge or head out for an hour to themselves.
What medium will my child use?
Every session focuses on a specific medium — drawing, painting, sculpture, cartooning, printmaking, watercolor, and more. The schedule tells you exactly what to expect each session.
What if my child has never done art before?
Perfect — our sessions are beginner-friendly by design. Teaching artists meet every kid where they are. There is no skill prerequisite.
Will my child take home finished artwork?
Usually yes. Some projects need extra time to dry, and we will let you know when to come collect them.
Is Hourly Art included in All-Inclusive?
Yes — All-Inclusive covers Hourly Art, After School, and Camp. Session pack credits also work for Hourly Art.
